🌍 Context & Background

Europe's population is ageing rapidly. Baby Boomers (born 1946–1964) are retiring in record numbers, yet many face digital exclusion, social isolation, financial insecurity and a lack of structured learning opportunities. Studies show that 71% of Baby Boomers feel disconnected from modern society, and only 17% feel included in today's digital world. Despite 80% expressing a desire to keep learning, current opportunities are too rigid, expensive, or focused on younger generations.

Retirement is not just an end to work — it is a major life transition that affects identity and purpose. BB:AWA was created to respond to these real challenges.
