🇮🇸 Skref fyrir Skref / Step by Step — ICELAND (Lead Partner)

Location: Sandgerði, Iceland

Website: www.sfsradgjof.is

Type: Social enterprise / Local public body

About: Skref fyrir Skref (SFS) is a dynamic social enterprise based in Iceland, specialising in adult education, non-formal training and lifelong learning. Founded in 1987, SFS has a strong history of empowering learners through innovative teaching methods, digital inclusion and social participation. Their work spans vocational training, entrepreneurship, intergenerational learning and skills development for a diverse range of groups including Baby Boomers, vocational trainees and marginalised communities.

Role in BB:AWA: Project coordinator — responsible for overall management, strategic planning, financial oversight and leading the development of Module M2 (Psychological).

Working with our target groups:

At Step by Step, working with adults is not just a programme — it is a lifelong commitment. Since 1987, we have built our work around one core belief: learning must adapt to the person, not the other way around. On a day-to-day basis, our team designs and delivers non-formal training experiences for adults facing real-life challenges — whether that means a senior navigating digital tools for the first time, a woman re-entering the workforce, or a retired professional searching for a new sense of purpose.

We have direct, hands-on experience working with Baby Boomers who feel left behind by a fast-changing world. Many come to us uncertain, sometimes reluctant — and leave with renewed confidence and a sense of direction. Our approach is deeply andragogical: we respect the life experience each person brings and build from there. Through one-to-one support, group sessions and community-based activities, we help older adults stay active, connected and engaged in society long after their professional lives have ended.

🇮🇪 DIGITALSET EU LIMITED — IRELAND

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Website: www.digitalset.net

Type: Small and medium-sized enterprise

About: DIGITALSET EU LIMITED is a Dublin-based social enterprise dedicated to lifelong learning, digital inclusion and innovation in education. Founded in 2023, it brings together experts in education, pedagogy, IT, language learning and project management. Though a young organisation, its core team carries over 15 years of experience in digital education, Erasmus+ project management and adult learning methodologies.

Role in BB:AWA: Lead for digital content and quality assurance — ensuring all learning modules are accessible, user-friendly and inclusive. Also leads the development of Module M3 (Digital).

Working with our target groups:

At DIGITALSET, we see technology not as a barrier but as a bridge — and our daily work is about making that bridge accessible to everyone, including those who have never thought of themselves as "digital." In practice, this means running active digital capacity-building workshops with adults of all ages, working closely with organisations such as the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board and the People's College Dublin.

Our team works directly with older adults who struggle with smartphones, online banking, video calls or simply finding reliable information online. Sessions are hands-on, patient and focused on real-life applications. We also work pro-bono with adult education organisations in Ireland and France, taking the tools and resources developed in European projects directly into communities that need them most. For us, digital inclusion is not a technical challenge — it is a human one.

🇮🇹 Youmore APS — ITALY

Location: Brescia, Lombardia, Italy

Website: www.youmore.org

Type: Non-governmental organisation / Non-profit association

About: Youmore APS is a youth-led cultural organisation established in 2023 in the province of Brescia. It promotes European values, non-formal education, soft skills development and active citizenship. The organisation works closely with local adult education centres and focuses on supporting disadvantaged groups including seniors 60+, unemployed adults and young people with fewer opportunities.

Role in BB:AWA: Lead for WP3 (Pedagogical Resources) — coordinating the development of the Pedagogical Guide, Toolkit and Workshop Models. Also leads Module M1 (Physical).

Working with our target groups:

Based in the industrial province of Brescia, Youmore APS was born out of a concrete local need. The economic crisis, the aftermath of COVID-19 and the rapid shift to digital work have left many adults in our community without employment, skills or direction. Every day, our team works with unemployed adults, young people with fewer opportunities and seniors aged 60+, helping them rebuild confidence, develop practical skills and reconnect with their communities.

Our activities include language and ICT courses, soft skills workshops, local events and motivational programmes — all designed to be inclusive and accessible. We have forged strong relationships with local adult education centres such as the CPIA of Brescia and the municipal services of Brescia and Sarezzo, which allows us to reach people who would not typically engage with formal learning. For us, education is about giving people back their sense of belonging and possibility.

🇪🇸 Tenerife Job Training S.L. — SPAIN

Location: Adeje, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

Website: www.tenerifejobtraining.com

Type: Small and medium-sized enterprise

About: Founded 14 years ago, Tenerife Job Training specialises in educational tourism with a mission of "travelling to learn." They offer language courses, exchanges, internships, educational trips and intergenerational learning programmes. With connections to over 200 institutions across Europe, they have particular expertise in working with older adults and supporting Northern European retirees living in Southern Europe.

Role in BB:AWA: Lead for intercultural and lifelong learning content — developing Modules M4 (Linguistic) and M5 (Social) and supporting dissemination across their extensive European network.

Working with our target groups:

Our motto at Tenerife Job Training is simple: "travelling to learn." For over 14 years, we have worked with adults of all backgrounds and ages, and our day-to-day experience is deeply rooted in the belief that learning happens everywhere — not just in a classroom. Tenerife is home to a large community of European retirees, many of them Baby Boomers who have relocated from Northern Europe in search of a better quality of life. We know their challenges intimately.

Through language courses, intergenerational exchanges, educational trips and digital mentoring sessions, we help older adults stay socially active, culturally curious and connected to the world around them. One of our most valued initiatives pairs young adult volunteers with seniors to help them navigate digital tools safely — sessions built around a coffee and some biscuits, where learning feels natural and human. With connections to over 200 institutions across Europe, we bring a unique ability to create meaningful, cross-border experiences for Baby Boomers at every stage of retirement.
